Yuliya brown

Idaho Elite Gymnastics proudly serves as the home of Yuliya Brown. An accomplished coach and world-class athlete, Yuliya has earned recognition for her exceptional contributions to the sport of gymnastics. Competing for both the Soviet Union and the United States National Teams, she achieved an outstanding competitive career that includes six National Championship titles and multiple medals from World Cups, World Games, and World Championships. The Federation of International Gymnasts honored her with the World Class Gymnast award in both 2007 and 2014. USA Gymnastics named her Athlete of the Year in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2014, and inducted her into their Hall of Fame in 2013.

Yuliya’s journey in gymnastics began at age five, when two separate agencies in the Soviet Union discovered her talents as she played on a neighborhood playground. By age 11, she was competing at the Elite level and transitioned to power tumbling at 16. In 1992, Yuliya moved to the United States to coach and train young athletes. By 2004, she was competing for the USA Gymnastics Team.

Yuliya discovered her passion for coaching at just 14 years old. She creates an uplifting and supportive environment for her athletes, shaped by her experience working with a wide range of coaching styles. Yuliya believes every gymnast is unique and takes a highly personalized approach to coaching, continually seeking ways to help each athlete grow and reach their full potential.

Since 1996, Yuliya has coached in Idaho Falls, where she developed the only Elite Level Gymnast to come out of Idaho and helped five others earn college scholarships through their gymnastics careers. When she’s not in the gym, Yuliya enjoys soaking up the sun, indulging in dark chocolate, and spending time with her 10 beloved dogs.
